Machine screws are a type of fastening device similar to a bolt but are different in that they have a socket at their head which allows them to be turned with a screwdriver. They have machine threads for use with a nut or in a tapped hole. Machine screws come in different head styles including round, pan, flat and flat undercut, and can be driven by different means such as Phillips, slotted and Phillips/slot combo.
