What is Square Bolt?
A square bolt is a type of fastener with a square-shaped head, providing a larger surface area which can be gripped with tools like wrenches or pliers for tightening or loosening. Square head bolts are commonly found in both industrial and residential applications, offering a rustic or aesthetic appeal while also serving functional purposes.
Square bolts can be used in a variety of settings and are often chosen for their classical appearance on machinery, for architectural purposes, or in situations where the bolt head may need to be adjusted or removed with a wrench.
They are available in various sizes, lengths, and materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and other metal alloys. Some square bolts are also made with a plain finish, while others might be coated or plated with materials such as zinc for added corrosion resistance.
Similar to other bolts, square head bolts are paired with nuts and are threaded to be fastened securely. Because of their design, they tend to be easier to tighten in tight spaces where round heads might be more difficult to manage. They might not be as common as hex bolts in modern applications, but they are still widely used where a combination of traditional appearance and functional strength is desired.
