What is Toggle Anchor?

Toggle anchors, also known as toggle bolts, are a type of fastener used to hang heavy items on walls where there is no stud to support the weight. They are particularly useful for hollow walls such as drywall, plasterboard, and gypsum board. Toggle anchors consist of a bolt and a pair of spring-loaded wings that collapse to enter the wall. Once through the wall, the wings re-open on the other side, providing an anchor point. When you tighten the bolt, it pulls the wings against the backside of the wall, securing the anchor in place. They are known for their strength and can support significant weight compared to other types of wall anchors.
